Department Organization

Divisions, Councils & Offices

The Department of Magical Affairs administers the Magical Code of Regulations through departments, councils, boards, bureaus, ministries, registries, and other specialized bodies.

Department of Licensing and Authorization

Licensing officers review applications, verify educational and practical qualifications, administer or coordinate proficiency examinations, process renewals and limited-use licenses, maintain licensure records, and flag applicants requiring additional compliance review.

Department of Wand Registrations and General Complaints

Registration staff maintain wand records and amended registrations. Complaint personnel accept, classify, log, and preserve complaints concerning magical instruments, neighborhood disturbances, unsafe broomstick operation, dragon vocalization, enchanted-device availability, and other prevailing conditions, whether or not a remedy ultimately exists.

Council of Councils

Council members provide the Department's highest level of regulatory oversight. Staff support final administrative review, supervise subordinate councils and specialized bodies, process matters requiring Council determination, and prepare supplemental rulings, amendments, and clarifications.

Council of Counsel

Counsel and adjudicative staff hear administrative appeals, resolve disputes arising under the Code, review ethical-violation determinations, develop regulatory interpretations, and recommend enforcement actions and penalties for final administrative review.

Elemental Council

Council personnel specialize in regulatory questions involving elemental magic. Their work covers matters involving fire, water, air, earth, lightning, ice, and related elemental forces within the broader Council of Councils structure.

Necromantic Advisory Board

Board personnel advise on matters involving death-related magic, including corpses, spirits, post-mortem energies, necromantic constructs, and other regulated interactions with the deceased.

Temporal Oversight Bureau

Bureau personnel handle specialized oversight involving temporal magic and time-related regulatory issues, including review of practices capable of altering ordinary temporal conditions.

Ministry of Prophetic Affairs

Ministry personnel administer the regulatory framework governing prophecies, Chosen Ones, Lone Heroes, and other destiny-bound persons. Staff process prophecy-related designations and monitor associated compliance requirements.

Prophetic Review Committee

Committee personnel evaluate predictive utterances, visions, curses, celestial documents, and similar materials submitted for recognition, determining whether prophetic material satisfies applicable standards and assigning Prophecy Identification Numbers where appropriate.

Central Prophetic Registry

Registry personnel maintain official records of registered prophecies and associated identification information and support the Ministry and Prophetic Review Committee in locating and administering prophecy records.

Department of Arcane Review

Review personnel conduct compliance examinations and audits assigned under the Code, examining records, reporting failures, and other matters requiring formal Department review.

Council on Culinary Integrity

Council personnel maintain standards for the ethical preparation of ovum-based comestibles, including matters involving preparation methods, culinary negligence, remedial training, confiscation, and the Registry of Culinary Malfeasance.
